Summer Away From Cottage
I wasn't at Cottage this week. For the very first time since I met Cottage, I took some holidays. I've already been away from Cottage, of course, visiting my family, but I hadn't taken any real holidays for ever.
So I packed half my wardrobe. I confess, I don't know how to travel light - I mean what if it's really hot? What if it's cold? What if it rains? What if I find a spot to bathe and I don't have my swimsuit? I packed half my pantry. That is necessary when you follow a special diet and plan on spending your holidays discovering the local architecture rather than the different aisles of the local supermarkets. I also packed one of my cat.
Just like I was away from Cottage, I was away from my blog. But I didn't stop working competely: I wrote a guest post for Mrs Toody Goo Shoes, who very kindly invited me for her favourite thing series.
Sorry about the light, picture taken at 6:30 in the morning. |
Of course, my favourite thing was with me for those holidays.
Before you get all excited, let me tell you the beautiful house you can see on the picture is not the one I rented for this week holiday... I rented a small cottage in the garden of the owner of the house... But the view for my morning tea was enjoyable!
I'll be back soon and of course, I'll share the wonderful places I've seen over the next few months.
How lovely that looks. Often there are little gems of cottages to rent in the grounds of grand houses. So glad you had a rest and time away.
ReplyDeleteWow Magali!!! What a Wonderful place!!! I love both, the cottage you have rented and the other "House" An ideal place to relax, a dream. Thanks for sharing

I love how you take some of your possessions with you - I don't know what it is about my morning tea or afternoon or evening but it just taste better if I bring my small teapot with me - I don't have a nice china piece like you do I use a small Japanese cast iron pot - it is heavy but I travel in a small motorhome so I'm not lugging it in a suitcase :) It looks like you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI've seen this house before, I think another blogger or friend must have rented that cottage and posted about it. Lovely view!! I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday xo
ReplyDeleteHaha Magali, the face of your cat from the backseat of the car, it is sooo cute ! Your photos promise some nice blogposts to come, with more wonderful area pictures ... hope you have a wonderful summer ! Marie from Belgium
ReplyDeleteIt was a very weird trip, but I do have a few places to show my readers later.
DeleteOoh, I can't wait to hear more about where you went on holiday/vacation! Looks like a lovely place. How did your cat like the traveling? All three of my cats hate cars!
ReplyDeleteDear Magali:
ReplyDeleteHope this time away from Cottage is very relaxing, special and inspiring!
It all looks so lovely and Shadow looks like he was quite content to go along - lucky kitty! I'm looking forward to more pictures. I'll be heading over to Mrs. Toody Goo Shoes.
ReplyDeleteOh Magali - what a delightful place to have some time to spend on yourself. Hope you have a very relaxing time and can't wait to see photos of your trip.
ReplyDeleteJudy
What a pretty place for a holiday.
ReplyDeleteAs for the big and elegant house......sometimes it's better to see the house than to be in it!
You work so hard teaching and creating your perfect cottage so I am glad you took the time to unplug and rejuvenate.
ReplyDeleteNow I am headed over to Ms. Toody Goo Shoes to read your post.
A Holiday is certainly what you needed to rejuvenate yourself:). Is the kitty Shadow? Looking forward to your Holiday posts, Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteYes, Shadow is the kitty who comes with me wherever I go.
DeleteLovely view! I will enjoy this holiday with you, as I now have to spend money on a new floor instead of my vacation. Enjoy yourself.
ReplyDeleteCaroline
Sounds like your vacation was long due. I look forward to hearing all about it.

Lovely pics and such a sweet little kitty. Holidays are always welcome. I would love to hear where you have been. In fact, it would be awesome to share some posts at our link party every Sunday, Dishing It & Digging It.
ReplyDeleteOh, that vacation spot is ENCHANTING, Magali! What a place to escape to! Continue on in your quest for peace and quiet and relaxation. Before we both know it, la rentrée sera de retour!
ReplyDeleteI am always excited 3d when I see a new post of yours in my email. Your "holiday cottage" looks quite serene. Do you know the history, why of course you do, of the place you are staying? I am looking forward to your latest tour.
ReplyDeleteThe cottage was quite serene, but the town it was in wasn't so much! But it was full of history, which will make great posts later!
DeleteOh how lovely, so happy you are enjoying a holiday in such a lovely setting. How sweet to have your fur baby with you, he looks very happy to be on holiday too. Can't wait to see where you were!
ReplyDeleteHappy week……….
So glad to see you had some time to get away and really enjoy. I cannot wait to see more of this cottage. It looks wonderful. I saw your post over at Amy's and it was fun to read. Enjoy the new week ahead.

Bisous bisous. Babette
ReplyDeleteLooks idyllic and I look forward to hearing all about your adventures. I'm not sure I could cope with a cat on holiday, though; wouldn't you lose it..?
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! And I wonder - how did your kitty like traveling?
ReplyDeleteThat house was beautiful! I'm happy you got away for a vacation!!
ReplyDelete-andi
Such a delightful cottage Magali! You certainly have a penchant for finding them ;).
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the details. Looking closely at the garden for inspiration. Jo @ Let's Face the Music
ReplyDeleteThe garden was small, but beautiful.
DeleteYeah! You took time for yourself. I am very proud of you. Now if and when I do that it will probably be my funeral! lol Have a great time. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation, Magali! Looking forward to what you share! x Karen
ReplyDeleteI have taken so many pictures. I'll have a hard time choosing them!
DeleteIt looks like a relaxing and amazing place for a holiday :)
ReplyDeleteddddddd
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful place to spend a vacation- Looking forward to more pictures! Thanks again, Magali, for your wonderful "Favorites" post! I am so happy that you agreed to do it!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your reasons for not packing light. Isn't that so true! We never know. I pack light simply because I don't want to wait in line at the airport, but when taking a road trip, it's amazing how much I need!! It looks like you're having a lovely time. Thank you for checking in on me, and have a safe and fun trip back to Cottage.
ReplyDeleteHope that you are having fun. That photo was beautiful, looking forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Jeannie
Sounds like fun! Nice photos ♥
