Last Days Of Summer

I know you've all been back to full "back to school" mode for already two weeks, but here in France, the summer holidays started two weeks later, so school begins again only today Monday, September 2nd.

It's time to enjoy the last "empty-your-attic" sales in seaside villages (that's the beach you can see in the background: isn't my life difficult?) and time to have the last naps in the shade.

It's time to hit the veranda for a good sleep when the mornings are chilly and to admire the clouds making their come back to the skies of Brittany.

Casual Teas in the sun turned to Business Casual Teas as I have to work a lot, having to teach two curriculum I never taught before!

Somehow, I found a few evenings nights, to work on the fall collection for the shop. I called it "Beautifall"! I'm giving you only sneak peek, in true Magali style and you'll have to head to the shop here to see those goodies I found.

I still have tons of ideas and tons of things to do in the cottage: I'll show you everything,  I promise you won't miss anything! Let me just adjust to my new schedule for a few days.

See you as soon as I can!

A bientôt, si je le peux!

I'm spending the last days of summer here:

  5. I love the tea sets. Very autumn like. We will be starting school on 2 September but some of the communities near by started last week. I'm not ready for summer to end quite yet. The beaches will be quieter when the children are back at school and the weather will still be summer-ish.

    1. Wow! I thought French pupils were the last one to go back to school. I was mistaken. Happy last week of holidays to your son!

  11. Magali:
The market looks like our flea markets. Here is how it works in the US as far as school. The east coast goes back after Labor day - tomorrow in fact. The rest already went back. Today is called "Labor Day" and is a holiday but of course with a retail shop - I am working. I am trying desperately to hide my bad attitude!

I am so happy for you with your Etsy shop! I hope you have great success.

  19. I'd love to go to some empty-your-attic sales. Here we have Boot Fairs, but they are always on weekends, when I'm working.
The schools mostly go back on the 4th. I'm dreading it in one way, because the traffic is so bad then, but it also means that the café I work in, may be a bit quieter, which will be nice.
Good luck teaching the new curriculums, it looks like an awful lot of work !

  20. I'm adjusting to a new schedule too, and several other 'things' that have come up in my life recently....I'm so behind in blog reading! I LOVE your DIY window treatment on the walls! And I think a comfy chair from IKEA in a white slipcover would be perfect next to it :)

Hope you're enjoying your new school students :)

  21. Magali! I would love to go to an empty your attic sale on the beach! That would be so much fun! The kitties look so cute doing what they do best :)

  22. I didn't know you teach, too! What subject and age? We have a new curriculum, too that is very good, but LOTS of work. How lovely to search for treasures while strolling along the gorgeous sea side. Rough life, LOL!
    Hugs,
    Patti

  25. Good luck in going back to teaching and especially in teaching a new curriculum. I look forward to seeing more of your lovely cottage. Our kids here in Canada went back to school just three days ago, they never start until the day after Labor Day, which is always the first Monday of September.
I'm glad you were able to enjoy your last few days before you go back to work.
    Hugs, Cindy

  27. I think an empty your attic sale would be fruitless for me - I wouldn't be able to resist filling it back up! Tea outdoors is such fun and a blessing whether you can casually enjoy it or pair it with work time - I hope all goes well for you and do look forward to more glimpses of your cottage changes! I am delighted that you shared with A Return to Loveliness,
    Kathy

  28. I love the idea of sitting outside and sipping tea or anything else, however in Michigan it is either too hot, too humid or too buggy or its snowing. I do not really enjoy sitting outside too often and that's a shame as I love my garden.
