A Little White House Christmas - 7 -
I'm just stopping by to say the Little White House survived the storm Dirk that struck Brittany during the night from the 23rd to the 24th.
We are lucky enough that my town was not flooded and my heart goes to all those who were flooded and to all those who are still without power. Again, I was lucky and was only out of power yesterday evening. It was back during the night.
But there has been damages in the area and the trains I was supposed to get to go to my family for Christmas were cancelled. So I went back to the cottage and will join my family tomorrow, fingers crossed.
I was a little disappointed that they'd open their presents without me and woudn't open the ones I carefully wrapped for them, so I went to the beach as the sound of the waves always calms me down.
I thought I could send you a little message from there...
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas to you!
Un très joyeux Noël à vous!
Magali! I am so glad that you are all right. I have been very busy with my oldest granddaughter who has been visiting, since last week. Merry Christmas to you - love your beach greeting!

Love the message in the sand. Major parts of Canada are experience a nasty ice storm. We were going to head to my family's for Christmas Eve, they live some 3 hours away, but thought better of it...they are still in the middle of ice and downed trees. Safe then sorry right! We will see them hopefully in a few days.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you Magali and a blessed New Year. Hugs, Diane
So glad to hear you are all ok. Sorry to hear you couldn't be with your family as expected :( I hope you'll still have a happy holiday tomorrow though! The waves always calm me too...my favorite place to be!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you can't get to go to your parents today. The storm has been pretty bad here too, though not quite so severe I think. I hope you get to be with your family tomorrow and have a great and safe Christmas after all xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are OK. Here in Antwerp, Belgium, the storm was really scary, too. Hope you will be able to celebrate with your family soon! Best wishes for 2014!! Marcy
ReplyDeleteI hear the storm was heaing East after. It's nice to read you're OK too. I'll have an "after Christmas party" tomorrow!

DeleteHi Magali!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you didn't sustain any damage from the storm. It's too bad that it has messed up
the trains though and now you're not with your family. Hopefully you'll see them soon!!!
I love how the sea/ocean calms my nerves down. It seems to be a great place to go in order to clear my
head and I'm so glad you find this as well!!!
Have a safe trip and great visit with your family!!!!!!!!
All the best for 2014(Can you believe it?)!!!!!!!!

So glad you and your little white house are ok. Beautiful beach shots! Hope your train is running today, and that you enjoy Christmas with your family!
ReplyDeleteI too am glad that you are okay and weren't hurt by the storm. They're never welcome, but especially during Christmastime, it's sad to see people affected by storms and flooding. Hope your week gets better. Thanks for thinking of us while you were at the beach. Love the message in sand! Many Christmas blessings!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you when watching the news last night from Europe about the damaging floods. I am glad you are safe and hope you can salvage what is left of the holiday. Love the Merry Christmas beach greeting!
ReplyDeleteGlad your safe Magali ! On a weird note, I'm vacationing for the holidays in Cancun Mexico and a strong storm came last night and flooded our ground floor suite!!! We're all safe though too and for that I am merry too this Christmas morning! Cheers my friend!
DeleteHi Magali! I hope that you are on the train to your parents' home as I type this :) Glad that your house and you came through the storm, and thank you for the beach pictures. I grew up on an island, and I live inland now, but sometimes I do so miss the beach.
ReplyDeleteHey Magali, So glad you came through the storm without any major damage. I’m so sorry you didn’t make it to your family Christmas gathering, hopefully you did get your train today! I love the sound of the sea too, very calming. I love your Christmas message in the sand.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Magali,
Emily
I am so sorry you couldn't be with family today, but very glad you didn't suffer worse from the storm. I hope the trains are running tomorrow so that you can travel to see them. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi Magali,
ReplyDeleteGlad you were only without power for an evening and hope that you will be able to get to your family to celebrate together. Toronto and southern Ontario, Canada, was hit by an ice storm early Sunday morning and my sister's home, where my daughter is staying, was one of half a million in Ontario to have been hit with a power outage due to the ice storm!! They were without electricity since early Sunday morning and it was restored two and a half days later, on Christmas eve! They were without heating/phone/internet/light, and sleeping with several layers of clothing and their coats, lighting the fireplace to stay warm during the day, and making food runs every 2 - 3 hours. In the end, they were able to have Christmas as planned, and we are all thankful for their safety.
Merry Christmas to you!
Poppy
Crazy weather everywhere. Glad you are okay and I really hope you can make it to your Christmas Magali! Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteHope you eventually make it to your family safely. Sad that you missed your Christmas day with them, but great to hear you and your kitties are safe at The Little White House. Wishing you a wonderful New Year! Patty/BC
ReplyDeleteI did make it to my grandma's late on December 25th!

DeleteI hope you (eventually) had a wonderful time with your family. Love your Christmas wishes hand written in the sand. You are an earth angel. (((Magali)))
ReplyDeleteLove from Izabella.
I am so sorry about the weather changing your Christmas plans. I am very behind in reading my favorite blogs what with Christmas and food poisoning. I hope you got to be with your family and that everything is back to normal.
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather patterns - it was mentioned in the paper this morning that southern California has 3 1/2 inches of rain in total for the whole of 2013. Yet, around the world others are deluged.
Happy New Year
I hope you made it to see your family, and I hope you're having a wonderful time!!

ReplyDeleteMagali:
ReplyDeleteI just noticed you have my old blog address at the right which is why is shows the picture of the clock. Early last year I changed the address to:

Oh my, how did I miss this? I'm glad you're safe.
ReplyDeleteTotally understand about your disappointment. The sea is part of my soul, so it ALWAYS brings me peace.
Actually, I have not posted about this yet, but I had a nervous breakdown on Christmas Day. Sigh...still recovering little by little, but my husband and I took one of our favorite drives down to the Florida Keys on Jan 1st, and just breathing in the sea air brought me back to life.
Here's to a peaceful new year, friend.
