Autumn Muffins To Fall For

Easy Muffin Recipe A La Magali

Yes, don't worry, I'm working on my backsplash, so I'll be able to show you a reveal soon... But with hard work, you win muffin point (or pizza point if you're a turtle) and I have the perfect fall recipe to share with you today.

As usual with me it's very easy, made in a few minutes and explained with very useful pictures.

What you need:
  • 1 and 3/4 cups flour,
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar,
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamom,
  • 1/2 cup of dried cranberries,
  • 1 egg,
  • 3/4 cup milk,
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (if you're not using salted better, add a pinch of salt).

Ce dont vous aurez besoin:
  • 220 g de farine,
  • 125 g de sucre roux,
  • 2 cuillerées à café de levure,
  • 1/2 cuillerée à café de cannelle en poudre,
  • 1/2 tasse de cranberries séchées,
  • 1 oeuf,

What you have to do:
  • Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamom in a bowl.
  • Add the cranberries and stir so they are coated in the dry mix (it'll prevent them from diving in the bottom of your batter later).
  • In an other bowl, combine egg, milk and butter (not to hot or your egg will cook instantly).
  • Add this to the flour mixture and stir quickly (not too long or your muffins will be dry).
  • Line a muffin tray with baking cups and pour the batter in twelve muffin cups.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in a 400°F preheated oven.

Now who didn't read anything because they were too busy trying to see my backsplash? Be careful, I give extra-homework to pupils who can't focus!

As you can see, the masking tape is still there, the sockets aren't back in place and there's one more coat to do... I'm off to work again after one last bite!

See you soon for the reveal!

  3. Hello Magali!!! It was my birthday on Friday, and how wonderful to have so many wonderful posts to read from my favorite Little White Cottage! I loved the wandering around the cottage posts and got all teary eyed at how lovely the fountains are, even before I saw the film of the fountains with the music, how wonderful! And I loved so much to see the wedding pictures, and to actually see your face, you are just as lovely as I imagined!!! And then, for this weekend, the back splash post! I adore bead board backsplash, so imagine my delight to see some actual bead board back splash going on in the cottage with the muffin post! I am so excited for you, if I had been able to stay in my own house I would have been putting bead board backsplash in there as well, I think it is such a wonderful cottage look and quite my favorite. I am excited to try the muffins too, I am actually making chicken pie a la Magali for dinner tonight, maybe I will make muffins tomorrow. I think this recipe sound wonderful, and I think it might be nice with some apple in it as well. I will report back if I try it with apple and let you know how that comes out. So, in summary, it's been wonderful fun at the Little White Cottage as always, and thank you for such a wonderful weekend!

A bientôt Nicolette@sfr.fr

  23. I have not made muffins for such a long time. Baking in the summer always feels a bit wrong to me...unless it is a pie of some sort but bring on baking in the fall and the winter and the whole house is happy!! Thanks for a great looking recipe.
