Nothing Has Changed

Inspiration for the living-room

Cottage: It's been a long time since you featured one of our conversation on the blog.

Me: You're right.

Cottage: I'm always right! Or maybe it's you. Anyway, I want to be part of the blog!

1.

Moi : Tu as eu raison.

2.

Me: But you are everything I talk about and everything my readers want to read about. You are the star!

Cottage: Really? Aren't my stones blushing?

Me: No, it's ok, nobody noticed a thing.

3.

4.

Cottage: You know all the stars whose show you enjoy know how to make an entrance...

Me: Oh, yes, I just love when they appear on stage as if they were flying in the air or when they magically come out from a trap in the... Huh, what's your point?

Cottage: Well, I don't feel like the first impression I give is that great.

5.

6.
Me: But your dining-room is really coming together...

Cottage: So what you're saying is that every time we have people visiting, we should tell them at the door to close their eyes as you walk them through the first room and to only open them once they are in the dining-room.

Me: I see your point. Even to me, it's never fun to arrive every day after school in a room where nothing is finished...

7.

8.
Cottage: Nothing has changed, you mean!

Me: Now, you're being ridiculous... A few things have changed already...

Cottage: But they were necessities and nothing pretty has been made in five years!

9.

Cottage : Rien n'a changé, tu veux dire!

10.

Me: I know, I know... But this room is very tricky to me and I don't know exactly were to go.

Cottage: Haven't you pinned inspiration pictures like you did for the kitchen and dining-room? I'm very disappointed...

Me: No, no, I mean, yes, I've been pinning... But for so long and with so many different ideas in mind... Have a look... Can you see what your room should become from all those different pictures?

11.

Tu me déçois ?

12.
Cottage: Well, it's difficult... I'd say you want some original features to show, you want the room to be cosy but light and it should all be very easy to achieve with some money...

Me: About that...

Cottage: Well, some thrifting, some painting and your imagination should do the trick, then.

13.

14.

Me: Does that mean you're trusting me?

Cottage: I'll still keep an eye on you.

15.

Moi : Alors, tu me fais confiance ?

16.

How exciting to be planning living room renovation.!

  11. Dear Magali,
all of these pictures are great! The ones I like best are 3,4,7,8,10,13. This is hardly helpful, I suppose? Cheer up, Cottage, in the end you will be the most marvellous cottage in Brittany!

  20. They are all just gorgeous! I'm sure you will come up with a perfect look for Cottage! I can't wait to see what you do. Have a great Friday and weekend!

  21. They're all inspiring spaces, but I think number 4 is speaking my language. I love all the white sofas, but unfortunately they wouldn't hold up well with 4 little monkeys visiting. Maybe in a few years. I know your living room will be charming when you're done and will be well worth the wait. Would you relay that message to Cottage, please?

Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend, Magali!

  24. All of them are beautiful. Isn't the stone under the wall in your living room? I really am partial to white with blue or aqua with white or natural finishes. xoxo Su

  26. I am just a little crazy about number 13, but I enjoyed all of your inspiration pics. It is funny to see blue coming back in to fashion. Blue was all the rage when we bought our first home and began improving and decorating it.

  30. Maggy, Somewhere in your cottage, there has to be a library or a cool gigantic bookshelf. I think this room could be it, coming home to a place to relax in comfort with a cup of hot tea and your books around you. Your friend, Caroline

  31. Wonderful inspiration photos. I love them all, but #6 tugs at my heart. It's so cottagey, and I love blue and white. Whatever you and Cottage choose will be delightful. xo

  32. I like #4 and #7 as I like the contrast of textures in those examples. I am just glad I will not have to make the decision.
