The White Queen

The Dining Nook Transformation - episode 9 out of ???

Choosing The Wall Colour

Some of you might remember how long I hesitated to choose the perfect seaglass green for my kitchen walls.

For the dining nook, there wasn't as much hesitation. I knew I wanted it to be white, because it's open to my kitchen and its soft seaglass green.

Of course you all know that there are many, many whites to choose from. But again, the fact that my ceiling and my window were already painted All White by Farrow & Ball helped me make my choice.

I wanted my walls to be white, just a little less bright than the ceiling and window so it wouldn't look all one dimensional.

Walls in Wimborne White

I had a very good idea what kind of white I wanted, because I had used my parents as guinea pigs... Last year, they had my bedroom repainted at their cottage. My mom had asked me for advice, which made me very, very proud. We chose an All White ceiling and Wimborne White for the walls. I love my "new" bedroom at my parents'. The difference between the walls and the ceiling is a very subtle, perfect one.

As you can see I also checked some inspiration pictures on the Internet to see how Wimborne White looked with some other colours.

But really, for once, I was pretty sure of myself.

See you soon for the reveal,

  8. It's a very pretty shade of white. Now, I am wondering if you used it, because you made it seem like it was an easy choice. :) My daughter wanted white in her room and since it was receiving the same direction of ight as the porch she wanted that white, well it didn't look quite right, and we had to change it a bit. xoxo Su
