Thank You Readers

You'd never believe it, but this post is again related to kitchen cabinets somehow. If you're sick of it now, please, don't read those lines and come back later!

In my last post, I asked you to be very nice so I'll show how the kitchen cabinets I chose look like. Well, I knew you would be good, because I have the best readers.

Pour yourself a cup of tea and I'll tell you all about some of them.

Don't be distracted by trying to guess how much wine I drank before taking that very unstable picture. Now, see that darling silver-plated tea-spoon? It was part of an awesome Christmas parcel I got from Iza. You may have seen her name in the comments sometimes. She's been my pen-friend since we were ten years old... And we've never met...yet!

On s'écrit depuis qu'on a dix ans!

A month later an other parcel came from England. It was from Elizabeth at Cornish Cream!

Elizabeth had written a post about some tea that is grown in England and whose name I had a hard time to remember. I was very curious about its taste and she offered to send me some!

But as you can see, I received more than teabags... Elizabeth added two Laura Ashley tea-towels because she knew I loved everything Laura Ashley and she wrote it was for the kitchen redo. So, here you are, the very first items for the new kitchen!

The tea is very good by the way and with absolutely no bitter taste that can often be found in teabags. So I kept it for the evenings I came back from school late. It was nice to know an easily fixed tea with delicious taste was waiting for me at home.

I was sipping Tregothnan tea: see, now I remember the name. Either that, or it's written right above! So, I was sipping Tregothnan tea while reading my favourite blogs, when I found out that Sarah from Little Hideaway was having the best giveaway ever. You didn't need to be on Facebook or Twitter or to like a brand I had never heard of before, no, you needed to find the name of a German poet thanks to clues she gave each day in her posts.

Nobody likes that kind of challenge like I do. Well to be fair, I wasn't the first one to find that it was Hölderlin... But apparently I was the first non-German to find it and so I received a parcel coming from Germany!

There were great chocolates... I only have two left... And maybe I won't have one left once I finish typing this post. But the thing that cost many emails between me and Sarah was that little treasure on the left.

She made it especially for me: I emailed her a picture of the ring I always wear and the measurement for my wrist. So for the first time, I have a bracelet that fits and that's totally me.

Now, my mom says I shouldn't take pictures of my hand because the skin on them tends to be very dry, but on the first tea picnic on the beach of the year, I couldn't resist showing you how the sun and the shadow play on the aqua-marines.

Really I would like to thank through this post all my readers: those who leave comments, those who stay silent and also those who have become customers. I received the sweetest note from a customer who said she felt like she was helping for the kitchen and that was so thoughtful it brought a huge smile on my face!

A huge thank you to all!

So since you're so nice, here's what's coming soon at The Little White House:
  • a sneak peek at the kitchen cabinets,
  • the before/after of my kitchen chair,
  • a few little decorating projects I've been working on for the future kitchen.

See you soon,

A bientôt,

PS1: I'm sorry if you read my last post early. The draft was published by mistake... And I only realised it when my mom phoned me saying there were many mistakes in the new post!

PS2: I'm back to school on Monday, so the next post might take a while to write.

PS3: I'm leaving you with a favourite song of mine.

PS4: I'm partying with some of my favourite bloggers.

  13. What lovely presents, even the ribbon tying up the tea towels is pretty. I'm glad you're enjoying the sunshine there, it's crazily warm isn't it, like summer. Especially crazy as we've both just experienced what seems like months of storms and strong winds.
Waiting with anticipation for a sneak peak of the kitchen cabinets and the kitchen chair makeover, but totally understand about the workload, now that you're back to school tomorrow !

  14. I especially like this post where you have received gifts from other bloggers because I think this is one of the gifts of blogging. As a child, my little friends Mom was from England and I have many fond memories of eating at their house and seeing her pot of tea on the table.

  15. Magali, love the pretty bracelet! I hear you about dry skin. When my middle daughter was young she listed things in a Mothers Day card that she loved about me. One thing she wrote is Dry rough hands. lol! We still laugh about that one. Sounds like you have lots of blog love out there. Just adore having friends like you!
    hugs,

  29. Hi Magali, First things first, I love that you choose white for your cabinets. I think white is absolutely perfect for your cottage kitchen. I must say if I could do new cabinets they would be white. I love the all the kitchens you show in the last post, it would be hard to choose one.
I must say your mailbox has been busy! So many pretties and tasty teas. But, oh that the bracelet is just so lovely. I think you wear it beautifully. I think those Laura Ashley tea towels are going to look great in your new kitchen!
Hope your week is going great.............

  36. Such a lovely post, Magali. The bracelet is lovely, and I ladore anything Laura Ashley. A couple of years ago I walked into a local thrift shop and found four brand new Laura Ashley dinner napkins in a spring motif for $2. I grabbed them as quickly as I could and ran to the check out. Ok, I didn't run, but I did grab them quickly. :)
