Two And A Half Wall

The Kitchen Wall Mini-Series - part 1

Maybe you remember and maybe you don't, but my kitchen used to me a separate room from what is now the dining-room, for the obvious reason that this used to be the former owners' bedroom.

I had the idea to open that wall as soon as I visited the cottage.

Moi, j'ai eu l'idée d'ouvrir ce mur dès ma première visite du cottage.

But as maybe you remember or maybe you don't, when I first began the remodelling, the company that was doing the remodelling went bankrupt and didn't finish the job, so I was left with a half-wall that wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

But between money issues, time issues and being fed up with always living in the dust, I lived with that unfinished half-wall for about a year and a half.

Picture taken from the same place as the one above!

But, tadam, it's all finished now and I can't stop watching and admiring it and no, you can't see until the next post!

I hope you'll be able to sleep till the next post! See you soon!

A bientôt!

  6. Progress is still PROGRESS Magali, no matter how slow or small. You'll eventually get there dear, so sad about what happened with your contractor, things happen that are out of our control. Keep your spirits up and pretty soon, you'll achieve your goals for this space!

  9. I can't wait to see it! I'm sure it is going to be a big improvement in looks and flow.

We had a weird wall like that in the kitchen. We wanted to remove all of it, but we could only remove the half part, because the pipes are in the other part, which would have made the cost of renovation much higher. In the end, it looks great, because we planked it with bead board and it looks part of the kitchen.
